Se acerca la conferencia anual para padres y estudiantes "Adelante", aproveche la oportunidad de poder ayudar a su hijo a llegar a la Universidad!! Lo esperamos el sábado 29 de septiembre desde las 8:30am a la 1:00pm. Habrá desayuno para toda la familia, guardería para sus hijos y servicios de traducción. Our Services

  • What we do and how we do it
    Mexican American Student Services is a service-oriented department serving Tucson Unified School District Latino students.

    We are...

    • serving Mexican American/Latino students and families district wide.
    • advocating for equitable education.
    • preparing students and parents for college.
    • mentoring and tutoring K-12 students.
    • connecting community organizations and colleges to families

    The Department is housed inside AERO Bldg- Upper Level at Catalina High School; the physical address is 3645 E. Pima St.

  • Department Goals 2017-2018
    • Work to eliminate the opportunity gap for Mexican American/Latino students.
    • Offer K-12 mathematics and reading tutoring services.
    • Provide in-class support for students in 27 Tucson Unified school sites.
    • Establish mentoring and advocacy programs to increase Latino students’ attendance, academic performance and graduation rates.
    • Engage with community organizations and college partnerships to offer mentoring, tutoring and community services to TUSD families.
    • Increase Mexican American/Latino students’ academic achievement for college preparation.
    • Implement mentoring and tutoring programs to meet students’ academic and social goals.
    • Collaborate with community organizations and colleges to increase educational opportunities.
