Roskruge Attendance Area Meeting, July 9

Public Meeting: Governing Board Meeting, July 9
Governing Board Meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Multipurpose Room, Duffy Community Center, 5145 East Fifth St

To strengthen the dual-language program at Roskruge Bilingual Magnet K-8 School and to improve access for students who do not wish to attend that dual-language program, Tucson Unified is exploring the creation of a special attendance area for the current K-5 attendance areas of Roskruge (see the map below). If this change is approved, it would take place in the 2020-2021 school year with Cragin Elementary School as the designated school to serve K-5 students these areas. Regardless, students from these areas would still be able to attend Roskruge, as follows:

  • Students already enrolled at Roskruge could remain there.
  • Students from these areas could enroll at Roskruge in grades K or 1 as if they were neighborhood students (enroll online, enroll at the school, etc.) and they would be guaranteed entry.
  • New students from these areas, who wish to enter grades 2-5 at Roskruge, may qualify for enrollment through a language proficiency review, with priority over other qualified students.

The Tucson Unified Governing Board will consider this proposal at the July 9 Governing Board Meeting.
