Meg Gebert Receives 2019 Excellence in K-12 STEM Education and Diversity Award

Tucson Unified School District its honored to share that our 21st CCLC coordinator, Margaret Gebert, who supports our STEM program for 21st CCLC, has received the 2019 Excellence in K-12 STEM Education and Diversity award from the U of A Women in Science and Engineering Program.

"We are so very proud of Meg and how beautifully and professionally she represents our 21st CCLC program and to acknowledge her impact of knowledge and support she has on our teachers and students," reports Tina Stephens, Sr. Director Grants and Federal Programs for TUSD.

This award honors a K-12 educator who has actively worked to increase student interest and diversity in STEM fields in either formal or informal educational settings.

"Through Margaret's work, training teachers to effectively engage students in STEM disciplines, she has touched the lives of hundreds of children each year," says Jill M. Williams, PhD., Director, Women in Science and Engineering Program.
