2018 Attendance Awareness Campaign

Date issued: August 31, 2018

Tucson Unified School District is kicking off September Attendance Awareness Month with a month long campaign.  It's time to "TEAM UP FOR ATTENDANCE"!  The goal of the campaign is to show a percentage increase of each school's attendance comparing September 2017 to September 2018.  The TUSD Department of Assessment and Program Evaluation will be keeping track of the data.  The winning Tucson Unified high school, middle school, K-8 and elementary schools will be recognized at a future Tucson Unified School District Governing Board meeting.

In addition to the general contest, we are including a kindergarten component again this year to promote the importance of attending school every day until graduation. Each kindergarten class will receive a prize that will help to promote attendance. Tucson Unified kindergarten classes will compete against each other throughout the district. The winning class will receive a visit from some of TUSD's finest football players. The Team players will run drills with the students, while reinforcing the importance of being at school every day.

Tucson Unified School District is proud to support our students and provide fun ways to share the importance of attending school.
