Mayor declares February CTE month
Mayor Jonathan Rothschild declared February Career and Technical Education Month with a proclamation that urges all Tucson's citizens to "become familiar with the services and benefits offered by the Career and Technical Education programs in this community and to support and participate in the programs."
The proclamation notes the importance of CTE classes for students and business and industry leaders nationwide as the courses help prepare generations of students for careers in fields such as healthcare, energy, manufacturing and technology.
Nearly half of Tucson Unified School District's high school students take at least on CTE class, and students who are involved in CTE tend to have higher test scores and graduate at a rate of 96 percent.
