Pre-K reopening for 4th Quarter

Letter to Teachers and Staff

Dear Prek Teachers and Staff,

We are excited to share with you that we will now be providing an in person, preschool option to our families.  The remote option will continue to be available to anyone who is interested. Now that we are providing our families with two models to select from there may be some schedule changes.

Families who attend in person will meet four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) for three hours in the morning beginning at the school’s first bell.  The first day of in person classes will be Thursday, March 25.  Teachers and staff will report to schools on March 22 to prepare for the transition.  Students with IEPs who qualify for transportation will continue to receive transportation to and from our programs. We ask that you encourage families to make their selection for in person learning or remote as soon as possible, and no later than February 28. Remote instruction will continue as normal, however it will only be available in the afternoons.

The current prek hubs will end services on Thursday, March 11.  Some families will continue at their hub sites and others will return to in person learning with their original teacher.  We will work as a team to ensure that timely communication and time to plan are provided to both teachers and our community.

Please reach out to your families and communicate any new scheduling information, remote instruction updates, updates on drop off and pick up locations at your school, and any paperwork you may need families to complete for licensing requirements.

Please know that our team remains committed to supporting you through this time of transition.  We are providing a very important Professional Development session on March 3 to review and prepare for the upcoming changes. In the meantime, as questions arise please do not hesitate to reach out to your prek and ExEd team for support.

We are excited to welcome our families back on campus for in person learning and look forward to continuing to learn together as a preschool community.

Most Sincerely,

Reem Kievit  M.A.Ed.
