Tucson High Student Receives 2012 Young Naturalist Award for Student Scientists

Meagan Bethel, a student at Tucson High Magnet School, received the 2012 Young Naturalist Award for Student Scientists from the American Museum of Natural History. The award was given to 13 students. Meagan is the only student from Arizona receive the award.

Meagan's award-winning project is titled "A Pre-Post Analysis of the Effects of Wildfires on the Biodiversity of Southern Arizona Wildlife."

The American Museum of Natural History developed this project to encourage students to engage in scientific discovery through asking questions, making predictions, gathering and analyzing data, and using the data to evaluate the prediction.
