Second-grader's artwork featured on holiday card

The artwork of Genevieve Garza, a second-grader at Dunham Elementary School, will be featured on this year's Education Enrichment Foundation holiday cards.

Genevieve's card is classic Tucson with a twist. The card features two tall saguaros, bright blue skies, a yellow sun and a less common sight around here: A snowman.

Pam Francis, executive director of the Education Enrichment Foundation, surprised Genevieve at a schoolwide assembly Nov. 22 with the news that her drawing had been chosen. Francis presented the second-grader with a framed copy of the card and a basket filled with art supplies.

"Genevieve's card was a good representation of Tucson, and it was so cute," Francis said. The design contest was open to all elementary school students.

The Education Enrichment Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports TUSD students and teachers. The foundation provides enhanced and enriched learning resources to schools and also supports financially in-need students.

Boxes of 10 cards are available for $20 by contacting the foundation at (520) 325-8688 or info@eeftucson.org.
