World-renowned guitarist to visit Pistor Middle School
Posted October 31, 2014
International concert guitarist Pavel Steidl will visit Pistor Middle School on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 12:20 p.m. to perform for music students.
Steidl will be in Tucson for the Sixth International Tucson Guitar Festival hosted by the University of Arizona School of Music in partnership with the Tucson Guitar Society. He is considered one of the best guitarists in the world and is known as a master of technique, musical interpretation and creativity.
Jonel Lauver, who teaches orchestra and guitar at Pistor, said having artists perform at the school is important because many families are not able to attend the larger concerts.
"By bringing the artists to perform at Pistor, as many guitar students as possible are able to hear world-class musicians in performance," Lauver says. "I am thrilled that the UAPresents/Lead Guitar and the Tucson Guitar Society were able to arrange for this to happen for Pistor this school year."
Pistor Middle School is located at 5455 S Cardinal Ave. For more information about the performance, please call 908-5400.
