BLENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Earns 2018 PBISaz Achievement Award

for Improving School Safety and Positive Behaviors

TUCSON, AZ – BLENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in TUCSON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT cares about providing a positive and safe learning environment for our students and community. The PBISaz Achievement Award recognizes schools for successful implementation and outcomes with school-wide systems of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). Award criteria required high scores on national fidelity and integrity assessments AND measurable student outcome data.

As a G.A.T.E. (Gifted and Talented Education) cluster school, Blenman now promotes a host of teachers at each grade level to ensure the needs of all students are met.  Ensuring students are taught to critically think and creatively think are two of the goals included in the program.

Principal Kelly Mack notes that this award recognizes the dedication of school staff and our community to uphold our school expectations every day including: positive behavior interventions, higher academic expectations related to decreased behavioral issues, and a learning atmosphere that includes children, school staff, and families. Together we are building a school culture that is more positive, proactive, and supportive for all our students so that they can be successful citizens and leaders of our nation.

Our award will proudly be displayed in our school office and on our website.

BLENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is committed to excellence and to prepare our students to become critical analytical thinkers through authentic learning so that they become responsible collaborative participants in a global economy.
