Access Control System
The purpose of the TUSD Lock Shop is to ensure the safety and security of staff, faclities and ultimately the students who are the future! We can and will accomplish this with efficiency and professionalism while maintaining communication with administrative personnel to create and sustain customer satisfaction. This is our goal and we look forward to serving the needs of your site.
The Lock Shop duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Cut keys for faculty and staff
- Support Key Control as needed
- Audit site key boxes
- Replace keys that belong in site maintenance, custodial and vault boxes
- Repair all lock hardware within TUSD, support sites included
- Replace lock hardware as needed
- Adjust doors and door closers to meet ADA requirements
- Lube, adjust and replace (if needed) door hardware such as exit devices, hinges, locksets, etc
- Install locking file cabinet bars to secure critical information
- Cut keys by code for file cabinets, storage cabinets, vehicles, etc
- Key and re-key, padlocks to assist in securing a site after hours
- Update site maps when there has been a change in the keying plan
- Supply estimates to sites for site upgrades such as installing file cabinet bars and re-keying multiple rooms
- Support other TUSD maintenance shops, engineering and project management upon request or as needed
- Preventive maintenance on all door hardware and locksets
- Assist site and roving engineers as needed
- Re-weld broken doors and door frames to repair broken hinge plates
- Repair “hinge bound” doors
- Data entry regarding key numbers, keying changes, or portable moves
- Repair lock and door hardware as requested in site initiated Work Orders
- Create Master Key systems as needed
- Ensure the safety and security of all TUSD staff, faculty, and students thru daily lock and door hardware repairs making sure that exterior and interior doors are able to be secured in a Lock Down situation and by close of business
- Key portables for TUSD personnel to enable movement and complete repairs
- Re-key portables to the site keys after they(portables) have been moved and repaired
- Review blueprints to ensure that new hardware is compatible with current TUSD key system
Basically, the TUSD Lock Shop repairs, replaces, and secures almost all doors and lock hardware within the District.
