EMCS (Energy Management Control Systems)
For those of you who may not know what EMCS is all about here is an overview of our equipment. We have EMCS systems of one form or another at over 80 sites throughout the district with more coming on line every month. Some of these can be as simple as a time clock or as complex to the point of controlling every aspect of a complete building HVAC system. We have 52 sites that can be accessed from our office through desk top computers and the others can be accessed by direct connecting through laptop computers. Depending on the extent of the controls we can make simple changes like time scheduling and room temperature set points or major operational changes to maximize our equipment's efficiency and life cycle. We can in some cases effect changes to make our customers more comfortable when equipment is down for repairs or waiting on parts. Using the system we can also trend information and provide solutions to problems that may occur at times when we are not at work. Trending is a function that allows us to monitor status of equipment, amp draw or temperature of a room every minute of the day. This allows us to identify problems or verify complaints in specific rooms. Our goal is to operate our systems as efficiently as possible and provide comfort to all our customers.
