Our Purpose:
To provide a functional desk and chair for every student in our district and giving outstanding customer service for all of TUSD's needs.
Our Functions:
Property Control - We are responsible for the delivery and pick up of surplus furniture at all of our 100+ sites with our crew of 4 with 7 different type vehicles. Relocations, transfers, delivery of new furniture, warehousing, setup and tear down for administrative conferences and much more.
We also run an Open House on the first Wednesday of every month at our 1940 E. Winsett Whse. from 7am. to 3pm.
Students' 1st - Consists of 1 permanent and 4 temporary employees to receive, assemble, deliver into classrooms as per site administrator, clean up and removal of any replaced surplus.
Furniture Shop - With 4 technicians and 1 apprentice our shop handles the requests for signs ( "Name plates, street, warning and vinyl lettering" ), furniture repair ( "That is not attached to the building" ), sandblasting, light welding, stain and varnish by brush or spray.
In the Fiscal year 2002, the TUSD Furniture Shop of Facilities Management was in a competitive bid with the private sector and won a multi-year contract as the successful vendor for the fabrication of the above mentioned classroom items.
