Our goal is to provide adequate environmental comfort that is conducive to learning and teaching. We are committed to communication, cooperation, safety, and teamwork. The HVAC/R Shop and its responsibilities are as follows: To maintain, install, service, repair all Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration equipment. The HVAC shop personnel maintain the equipment at approximately 100 school sites and all support buildings within TUSD. Some examples of the equipment involved would be as follows:

  • A small household refrigerator
  • A small household ice machine
  • Commercial ice machine
  • Small capacity air conditioning unit (Example-server room units)
  • Large capacity central plant chiller up to 300 ton (And all related equipment, i.e. pumps, controls etc
  • Small forced air heating units (And all related equipment, i.e. pumps, controls etc.)
  • Large capacity hot water boiler heating systems (And all related equipment, i.e. pumps, controls etc.)
  • Residential/commercial roof top package units (And all related equipment, i.e. pumps, controls etc.)
  • Air cooled and water cooled chiller systems (And all related equipment, i.e. pumps, controls etc.)
  • Evaporative cooling systems (And all related equipment, i.e. pumps, controls etc.)
  • All kitchen exhaust hood systems
  • Air-conditioning relief fans
  • Restroom exhaust fans
  • Sheet metal/duct fabrication
  • Rain gutter fabrication and special applications as needed
  • Pneumatic controls and air stations
  • Air filter PM program
  • All HVAC/R related State Facilities Board Preventive Maintenance Work Orders and Repairs
