Paint & Glazing
Paint/Glass would like TUSD’s pride to show through the appearance of our top facilities. Health and Safety issues are always our top concern as well as the children and those who support their teaching and learning. Our professional and experienced group enables our shop to accomplish our goals and respond to customers efficiently.
The areas of responsibly for the Paint/Glass and Graffiti are as follows:
- ADA issues/Handicap crosswalks
- Parking lots
- Kitchens (including the installation of non-skidded areas, and safety tape)
- Restrooms
- All interior (classrooms, offices, hallways, etc.)
- All exterior (handrails, metal doors, wrought iron, fascia, all stucco areas, under eaves, etc.)
- Re-lining of basketball courts and repaint the poles, safety yellow
- Safety issues (repainting curbing, such as “red”, “no parking”, “fire zone”)
- Safety issue for students (yellow curbs, which is a safety line, also parent pick up/drop off and bus loading and unloading of students)
- Remove “gang related” and obscene graffiti on east side and west side, also all support sites
- Glass shop is to secure and remove all broken glass, including all middle schools, elementary schools and all support sites
- Ensure all sites have boards to secure broken windows
- Responsible to repair and fix all portables (interior and exterior)
- For safety: recoat steel ramps with non-skid and walnut shell to prevent slipping and falling
- Install non-skid tape on staircases in all TUSD sites
- Painting of various asphalt roofs
- Stenciling of all TUSD sites such as “No Parking”, “Visitors”, personalized parking spaces, etc
- Setting up scaffolding as needed at multiple sites
- Re-varnish doors, countertops, other various surfaces
- Responsible for new projects
- Provide quotes for restitution when vandalism occurs, for Administrators upon request
- Ramada’s
- Special orders (such as double insulated windows at multiple sites)
- In charge of all bids
In addition, we address various emergencies and accommodate new personnel as needed.
