OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS HELP STUDENTS
GROW, LEARN & SUCCEED

Students ranging from 10 to 15 years old have a wide range of natural ability, learned skills and physical development. As a result, we offer a selection of sports in our middle schools that are developmentally appropriate for young adolescents.

In the Tucson Unified School District, we encourage our middle school students to stay active by participating in one or more of their school's extracurricular activities. As the parent/guardian of our student-athletes, we encourage you to support your child/children in their participation. It is our hope that you understand the important role sports can play in the development of your child's character. With your support, we believe that the highest potential of sports can be achieved.

Students in TUSD's 24 middle schools have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including sports.

Research shows that sports motivate students to attend class, study, maintain good grades and stay in school. Students who participate in sports learn how to compete, work as a team and practice in order to improve.

Our student athletes also benefit by learning sportsmanship, citizenship and other life skills which prepares them for the future.

At TUSD, we are proud of the extracurricular opportunities we offer our middle school students.
