School Choice FAQ

What are all the "new choices" that just opened up?

All TUSD schools are now open to all students without regard to ethnicity, as long as there is space.

Will transportation be provided to my school of choice?

Bus transportation will be provided only to Magnet School programs and to your neighborhood boundary schools based on distances from your home as indicated in Policy Code EEA.

How can I find a list of all schools that have the Opening Minds Through the Arts (OMA) program?

See the School Search page. There you can search for the special programs, including OMA, offered at our schools.

How do I register for a school outside my attendance area?

Use the School Choice application. Fill it out and bring it, or mail it, to the Welcome Center, 1010 E 10th St, Bldg. B, Tucson, AZ, 85719.

Where can I find a list of all elementary schools in the school district?

Lists of elementary, middle, and high schools are found on the School Search page. The links take you to the profile pages for the school.

I would like to email some questions to the principal of a school I am considering. Where can I find his or her email address?

You can find the email links for school principal email addresses on the schools page, leadership directory, and the School Search page. TUSD uses the format of firstname.lastname@tusd1.org for email addresses.

We would like to tour the school we have in mind. Can that be arranged, or should I just stop by the school?

Middle and high schools are mostly staffed through the summer break, but major building work is usually scheduled for this period. Elementary schools are not staffed for the summer, so arrangements would have to be made through the Welcome Center at 225-6400. During the regular school year, it is still a good idea to call the school for a tour appointment. You can look up the phone numbers of all schools on the schools page.
