The TUSD Governing Board approved school year calendars for the next two years, providing families an advance look at school start and end dates, vacations periods, and testing windows through 2015.
The next two school calendars will incorporate a one-week Fall Break and one-week Spring Break, as was overwhelmingly preferred in an online survey that was made available to the public in October.
TUSD thanks the community for taking part in the online survey – 3,220 people participated and voiced their opinions.
The respondents were in favor overall of having a one-week fall break. 76.8% of the respondents replied that the fall break benefitted their child, 77.6% replied that it benefitted them as parents or employees, and 73.3% replied that they would like to have a one-week fall break in the 2013-2014 calendar. The majority of respondents were also in favor of a one-week spring calendar.
