DISCIPLINE OF, AND ALTERNATIVE INTERIM EDUCATIONAL PLACEMENTS FOR, SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS

BOARD POLICY 5061

The Governing Board is committed to providing a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to all disabled students, pursuant to the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), as amended, and federal and state laws and regulations. In accordance with IDEA, all "children with disabilities," as defined by IDEA, and their parents or legal guardians, shall be provided with all rights and protections afforded them under the Act. The District shall also provide such students and their parents or legal guardians with written procedural safeguards and all notices required by IDEA. The Policy shall be implemented by a companion Administrative Regulation and the procedures set forth herein.
