  • Proclaimed April 11-16, 1999 as Volunteer Appreciation Week in TUSD
  • Adopted hearing officers' recommendations regarding the expulsion of four students and rejected the hearing officers' recommendation of one student
  • Approved the administrative appointment, transfers or reassignments of: V. Carole Smith, Ph.D., assistant principal, (high school to be determined); Patrice Hall, assistant principal, Catalina High Magnet School; Linda Schloss, grade VI director, Alternative Education;

CONSENT AGENDA HIGHLIGHTS

  • Authorized the disposal of Administrative Records from Van Buskirk Elementary School, Financial Services and Food Services
  • Approved funding proposals:
    1. City of Tucson: Exploring Our Future Project, Pima County Interfaith Council Job Training Pilot Program, Pueblo High Magnet School
    2. U.S. Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Centers Programs: Project Sano y Salvo (Safe and Sound), Doolen, Hohokam and Wakefield middle schools
  • Approved Indian Parent Education Committee Bylaws
  • Approved the appointment of replacement member to the East Growth Task Force
  • Approved sale of refunding bonds
  • Awarded
    1. Bid No. 6714 - Paper supply items for Warehouse stock, 1999-2000
    2. Bid No. 6734 - Catalina and Pueblo high magnet schools tracks and field lighting
  • Approved lease renewal with the Department of the Air Force for Smith Elementary School Site, with authorization for the Executive Manager of Fiscal and Operational Support to execute the renewal, July 1, 1999 to June 1, 2003
  • Ratified salary and non-salary vouchers for the period beginning March 1, 1999 and ending March 31, 1999
  • Accepted statement of charges and resolution to send notice of intent to dismiss certificated teacher
