Open Airways for Schools
The American Lung Assocation's Open Airway for Schools program is an innovative education program that helps children learn to manage their asthma. The program consists of six 40-minute lessons that are taught by a volunteer, teacher, or school nurse who have been trained by the American Lung Association. It is being offered in several TUSD elementary schools. The program materials have a distinctive multicultural appeal, and its take-home materials also engage the parent in the education process.
