Looking Ahead
Rincon/University will perform Bon Voyage Concert
The Rincon/University High School Ranger Band will present a Bon Voyage Concert on Tuesday, April 15, beginning at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at 421 Arcadia Blvd.
The musicians will head to New York City Thursday, April 17, to perform on stage at Carnegie Hall. The group has raised more than $5,000 to help with the trip expenses. Brian Wolfe directs the band.
Howenstine will present program at national conference
Howenstine Magnet High School students will present their seatbelt safety initiative at the National Service Learning Conference in Minneapolis in April. The students took their program to Miles and Robison elementary schools and to Saint Ambrose Catholic School, as well as to Howenstine. The Howenstine Project Ignition team has developed several public service announcements in English and Spanish to promote seatbelt safety.
Big Brothers Big Sisters will enroll students
Big Brothers Big Sisters, a mentoring program that helps parents and teachers motivate and inspire children, will enroll participants from April 1 to May 16. Professional women are screened and then matched with compatible girls. Call 624-2447 for more information.
Promethean to host conference
Promethean will host a Users Conference April 26 and 27 at Naylor Middle School, 1701 S. Columbus Blvd., where participants will learn how to integrate the Promethean Board into their curriculum.

The conference is free for Tucson teachers, even though the Web page lists a cost. Because Tucson is hosting this conference, the fee has been waived for Tucson teachers. |
