Utterback and Pistor Dancers Make News
New York City: Meet Utterback
Advanced dance students at Utterback Magnet Middle School kicked up their heels in New York City earlier this spring. The 13 students had a week of dance at some of the nation's top studios and academies, including Alvin Ailey, Steps on Broadway and Camp Broadway. Instructor Alison Hart accompanied the students. Utterback is located at 3233 S. Pinal Vista.

Pistor Takes on Hollywood
The Pistor Dance Ensemble is taking their act on the road. In May, this group of three-dozen eighth-graders will take dance classes with hip hop choreographers at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood. While they're in the area, they will perform at Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park.

The ensemble also performed at the Spark the Floor Hip Hop Showcase at the Tucson Convention Center on Saturday, April 19. The students were selected from an audition performance for this event. Renee Blakeley is their teacher.
