Focus on TUSD - July 2007
Stuff the Bus Promotions Will Benefit
TUSD Students
Even
before the new school year starts, buses in the Tucson Unified School
District will be on the job. They'll serve as collection points
for the new Stuff the Bus promotion, an effort that will give needy
children back-to-school supplies.
OfficeMax, Clear Channel Radio and the Tucson Association of Realtors
have joined TUSD to collect backpacks, binders, notebooks, crayons,
pencils, markers and notepads. TUSD will distribute the supplies
to children before classes begin on Aug. 14.
A TUSD bus will be parked at these sites on Friday and again on
July 20 and 27 to collect donations:
- Tucson Association of Realtors, 2445 N. Tucson Blvd, 8 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
- TUSD's Morrow Education Center, 1010 E. 10th St., 8 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
- OfficeMax, 5550 E. Broadway, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The buses will also be at these sites on these Saturdays: July
14, 21 and 28:
- Tucson Association of Realtors from 2-4 p.m.
- OfficeMax from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sasha and Tamara Laczkowski will also collect school supplies for
TUSD students on Aug. 3, 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A TUSD bus
parked at the Wal-Mart at 7150 E. Speedway will serve as the drop-off
point for donations. This is the sixth year the Laczkowskis have
conducted their Stuff the Bus campaign.
