Focus on TUSD - August 2007
Looking Ahead
Raul M. Grijalva Elementary School will celebrate
its 20th anniversary Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the
school, 1795 W. Drexel Road.
Diane Quevedo was the first principal and she plans to attend,
said Principal Anna Rivera. "The intent is to reunite former
faculty and staff members thus our focus is on adults. Think of
it as an 'intimate' gathering for about 250 people who have ties
to Grijalva Elementary School." For more information, call
Rivera at 908-3600.
Townsend Middle School, 2120 N. Beverly Blvd.,
is planning a big celebration for its 50th anniversary year. If
you are a Townsend alumnus, or know someone who attended the school,
contact Deanna Campos at Townsend, 232-7900.
Sam Hughes Elementary School, with a new multipurpose
room, library and kitchen, will celebrate its 80th anniversary Saturday,
Oct. 6, from 3-5 p.m. at the school, 700 N. Wilson Ave. For more
information, call school Principal Roseanne DeCesari at 232-7400.
