VickRoy had been the Banks principal for three years. Her other Tucson Unified School District duties were:

  • Assistant Principal at Myers-Ganoung Elementary School, 5000 E. Andrew, 2003-2005
  • Assistant Principal at Vesey Elementary School, 5005 S. Butts Ave., 1998-2003

VickRoy graduated from Catalina High School in 1978. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Arizona in 1982, a master's in education-counseling and guidance from UA in 1986 and a master's in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix in 1992.

VickRoy is survived by her husband of 20 years, Scott, and their two children, Susannah and Jeffrey, and many other relatives.

Those who knew her said she would be remembered for her generous spirit, kindness and great capacity for love and friendship. "The world lost a great friend in her death," her obituary said.

The family suggests that donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
