Pueblo To Hold Parent Meeting on Smaller Learning Communities Grant

Information regarding a Smaller Learning Communities grant and its effect on
Pueblo High Magnet School’s curriculum will be provided to parents from
noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8 in the school’s auditorium, 3500 S. 12th Ave.
Pueblo was among four TUSD high schools, including Catalina Magnet High School and Rincon and Santa Rita high schools, to benefit from the $3.1 million federal grant which was awarded last summer. Parents will be advised how Pueblo will use $775,000 of the grant over five years to fund a variety of methods to develop a smaller learning community including schedule changes, personalized instruction and courses on Character Counts and career information.
The Smaller Learning Communities Program is a $142 million competitive federal grant program to plan, implement or expand smaller learning communities in large high schools. For more information, please visit:
