Tech Journal Editor To Speak at Education Technology Conference

Jamie McKenzie, editor of From Now On - The Educational Technology Journal, an online magazine, will speak at the 11th annual Teaching and Technology Conference from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 1 at Tucson High Magnet School, 400 N. Second Ave.

McKenzie will present the keynote address at 8 a.m. Published since 1991, From Now On has featured articles calling for an increased commitment to professional development along with networks to support student exploration and reasoning. His articles have also appeared in Phi Delta Kappan, Educational Leadership and other magazines.

The conference will feature more than 60 sessions by 70 presenters including teachers and students from Tucson and other Arizona cities as well as speakers from several major computer software companies. Four breakout sessions dealing with the use of technology in a variety of educational settings and through the curriculum will be presented during the conference, which is cosponsored by TUSD, the University of Arizona's College of Education, and The Southern Arizona Chapter of Arizona Technology in Education Alliance.

Registration at a cost of $40 will be held on site the day of the conference. Advance registration payment for $35 must be received by Jan. 11. Further information and registration forms can be accessed at: http://www.ed.arizona.edu/techconf/
