About 50 students will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a music and dance performance at
7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 in the Tucson High Magnet School auditorium, 400 N. Second Ave.
The Tucson High band, along with the school’s beginning tap and intermediate and advanced jazz classes, will showcase their talents at this evening gala, which is open to the public. The band will play reggae and other popular music while dance students perform choreographed routines, wearing costumes they created specifically for the event.
Entry is free, however donations will be accepted. Funds raised will help students attend dance choreography workshops at Disney Magic Music Days at Disneyland in May. Disney Magic Music Days was created to provide students the opportunity to perform for a world audience, while learning how to collectively work with others to pursue a common goal.
