Sahuaro Hosts State Student Council

Over 1,300 students who participate in student councils at over 110 high schools across Arizona will converge in Tucson for the Arizona Association of Student Councils’ state convention from
5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 13, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Jan. 14, and 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 15 at Sahuaro High School, 545 N. Camino
Seco.
This year’s convention, titled “Leadership, an Adventure through the Ages,” will feature keynotes from nationally recognized motivational speakers Harriet Turk, Scott Greenberg and Russ Peak, as well as events such as small group leadership workshops and idea sharing sessions. Attendees will include TUSD Superintendent Roger Pfeuffer, Tucson vice Mayor Kathleen Dunbar, and Tucson City Council member Carol West.
The Arizona Association of Student Councils is a non-profit organization that promotes student leadership through student councils. AASC offers a wide variety of programs and events including leadership summer camps, regional conferences, charity events to help student leaders and advisors.
