Cavett Peace March Honors Martin Luther King Jr.

About 500 students, parents and community members from Cavett Elementary School, 2120 E. Naco Vista Dr., will participate in the school's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 17.

Joyce Rosette, a motivational speaker, will kick off the march with a speech in front of the school regarding Martin Luther King Jr. and the importance of civil rights. The march will then head south on Pinal Vista towards Utterback Magnet Middle School, 3233 S. Pinal Vista, and then will return to Cavett via East Naco Vista Drive. Joining the march will be the Townsend Middle School band, several students from Pueblo Gardens and a police escort. 

Jane Fitzgerald, the school's counselor, organized the march, which honors Martin Luther King Jr. and his peaceful efforts to promote civil rights.
