23rd Annual School Counselor-Administrator Celebration Breakfast

Over 500 southern Arizona school counselors, administrators, and community members will mark the kickoff of National School Counseling Week at the 23rd Annual School Counselor-Administrator Celebration Breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Fri., Jan. 30 in the grand ballroom of the Doubletree Hotel, 445 S. Alvernon.

Peter Likins, president of the University of Arizona, will give the keynote speech “Celebrating School Counselors.” Following the festivities will be an optional workshop highlighting “K-12 Internet Resources and Materials,” presented by Barbara Muller-Ackerman, past vice-president of the American School Counselor Association, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the junior ballroom. 

Cost for the breakfast is $15 per person, which includes either an all-American breakfast or a fruit plate with yogurt dip. Cost of the optional workshop is $10 per person. Interested persons can call TUSD’s Beth Counts at 225-6211 for more information and registration materials. The event is sponsored by the Tucson Area School Counselors.

National School Counseling Week is celebrated nationally Feb. 2 through Feb. 6. Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, the week honors the contributions made by school counselors and focuses public attention on the educational benefit comprehensive school counseling programs have on students.
