Toronto Blue Jay Anthony Sanders Teaches
Carson and Ford Students To Live Healthy Lives

Over 400 elementary school students and over 800 middle school students will learn how to live healthy lives from Major League Baseball player Anthony Sanders of the Toronto Blue Jays during two assemblies
at 10 a.m. at Ford Elementary School, 8001 E. Stella Rd. and at 12:50 p.m. at Carson Middle School, 7777 E. Stella Rd. Both sessions will be held on Jan.
18.
As part of his work with Sports Strategies, Sanders will promote healthy living to the students, including how to stay away from drugs, alcohol, tobacco and gangs. Sanders is a graduate of Santa Rita High School and chose the schools because they feed into his alma mater.
Sports strategies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the visibility, quality and development of young Arizona athletes. The group emphasizes positive peer leadership to help stem the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco among youths.
