TUSD Hold Summit to Discuss High School Reform

Parents, teachers, administrators, and students from each TUSD high school will gather together to lay the foundation for high school reform at the TUSD High School Pioneer Summit from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Rd.

The event will align with state and federal actions to revolutionize the way adolescents are taught in America’s public high schools. Discussions will cover innovative methods to improve TUSD high schools. In addition to Superintendent Roger Pfeuffer, the summit will feature presentations by high school principals from states including Idaho and Virginia, nationally renowned educational consultants Roy Benavides, Santo Nicotera and Loraine Chapman, and Arizona Department of Education representatives Karen Butterfield, deputy associate superintendent for Innovative and Exemplary Programs, and Maxine Daly, high school reform specialist.
