TUSD’s Opening Mind Through The Arts (OMA)
Program has been selected to be featured on the U.S.
Department of Education’s eLearning website at http://www.paec.org/teacher2teacher/.
The eLearning professional development website is part
of the U.S. Department of Education’s Teacher-to-Teacher
Initiative, which also supports teachers through workshops,
email updates, and the American Stars in Teaching recognition
project. Please note that TUSD’s information will be
displayed beginning in April.
From June through August 2005, OMA was invited to participate
in the U.S. Department of Education’s Teacher-to-Teacher
Conferences which were presented in six cities nationwide:
Cincinnati, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Tampa, Bethesda, and San
Jose. This is the first year the U.S. Department of Education
has included an arts-integration program model as a conference
session.
For every Teacher-to-Teacher course on the eLearning website
there is an: Overview, Video, Video Companion Guide, Course
Handouts, Follow-up Activities, End-of-course Assessment, etc.
OMA will be added to this course list in approximately three
months, once filming and submission of materials is complete.
