Public Invited to Exceptional Education/
Title I Family Conference

Interested community members including parents, educators,
and caregivers of children with special needs are invited
to learn about services offered by TUSD's Exceptional Education
and Title 1 departments at the Building Bridges for
Excellence Conference from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday,
Feb. 11 in the auditorium at Rincon High School, 421 N. Arcadia
Blvd. (Corner of 5th Street and Swan).
Sponsored by TUSD, the free conference will offer a variety
of presentations covering topics such as literacy, community
supports for parents of children with special needs; individual
education plans; nutrition and strategies for handling the
explosive child. There will be exhibitors from local agencies
and businesses that offer services to families as well as
agencies serving our children with special needs. TUSD Exceptional
Education and Title 1 staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Deputy Superintendent Patti Lopez will deliver the keynote
address
Childcare will be provided at no cost for attendees who R.S.V.P.
to Carmen Quintero at 225-6264 by Feb. 3. Language accommodation
services are available upon request. Continental breakfast
and snacks provided throughout the morning.
