Sahuaro Student to Perform in
Hawaii with Honor Choir

Tim Ashcraft, a junior at Sahuaro High School, 545 N. Camino Seco, has been
selected to perform with the High School Honor Choir at the American Choral Directors
Association Western Division Convention, to be held Feb. 20-23 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Ashcraft was selected from more than 800 singers who auditioned for three honor choirs.
As a member of the National Honor Boychoir, he performed in Chicago in 1999 at the
National Convention of American Choral Directors Association.
At Sahuaro High School, Ashcraft is a member of the Concert Choir, Advanced Vocal
Ensemble and Advanced Placement Music Theory classes. He also is an accomplished pianist,
cellist and drummer. His recent musical performances include the Fine Arts Youth Academy
production of Bye Bye Birdie, Sahuaros production of West Side Story,
the Arts Express production of A Centennial Holiday and the Tucson Symphony
Orchestras Holiday Pops Concerts.
