Student dance and drum performances will highlight the "Year of the Sheep Celebration," a Pan Asian dance concert marking the Asian New Year at 10 a.m. Feb. 7 at Rincon High School, 421 N. Arcadia Blvd.

Students from various organizations and school districts including TUSD, Amphitheater and Catalina Foothills will perform dances from several Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Some of the performances include a lion dance by the Vietnamese Community of Tucson, a Japanese drum performance by students from Santa Rita High School, and a Korean sword dance by students from Palo Verde High Magnet School.

About 1,100 students are expected to participate in the event, organized by TUSD's Fine and Performing Arts and Pan Asian American Studies departments.
