A group of 24 middle- and high school-level exchange students from the Yangzhou
Hanjiang Experimental School in Yangzhou, China, will spend the day at Tucson High
Magnet School, 400 N. Second Ave., tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Arranged by the American Goodwill Mission to China, the students visit is
intended to give the visitors a taste of life in an American high school while exposing
TUSD students to a different cultural experience.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with welcoming remarks by Tucson High Principal Ross
Sheard and the president of the student body, followed by a tour of the school. At 10:30,
students will gather in the Galleria for an American-style celebration, complete with
eegees refreshments and entertainment by several of the schools performing arts
groups. Then, Tucson High students will pair up with their Chinese counterparts to attend
several classes together before the final farewell gathering at 3 p.m., when the visitors
will receive Tucson High t-shirts as gifts.
