State Superintendent Tom Horne will commend University High School, 421 N. Arcadia
Blvd., for their exceptional academic achievement at an assembly at
1:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14 in the school’s auditorium. Later that evening Horne, as well as State Board of Education member John Pedicone, will speak to parents from the greater Tucson area at
7 p.m. in the Rincon/University High School auditorium. The meeting is sponsored by the TUSD School Community Partnership Council.
Horne will give a speech and present the school with a congratulatory certificate. For the past three years, UHS has been recognized as an “Excelling” school for having 100 percent of students pass AIMS.
University High School offers an all-honors academic program including 19 advanced placement classes, a strong foreign language program, an elective social studies program, a humanities option for ninth graders, and superior music and dance programs.
