Students at Pueblo High Magnet School, 3500 S. 12th Ave., will donate over $3,000 of student-raised money to World Care at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23 in front of the school near the flag pole.

Lisa Hopper, president of World Care, will receive the check for $3,120.91. Over 1,800 Pueblo students held a spare change drive from Jan. 10 through Feb. 12 to raise the funds. In addition, on Jan. 22 students from Pueblo, Catalina High Magnet School, Sabino High School, and Wakefield Middle School participated in a walk-a-thon at Pueblo. The events were organized to raise money for victims of the south Asian tsunami.

World Care is a Tucson-based nonprofit organization dedicated to raising consciousness in the local and international arenas of education, health, environmental, and community service.
