Orchestra to Hold Concert at Rincon

Big band music fans are expected to enjoy a live performance by the world-renowned Glenn Miller Orchestra on
Friday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in the Rincon/University High School Auditorium, 421 N. Arcadia St.
At 3:30 p.m. that day, 25 members of the Rincon and University jazz band will receive personal instruction at a clinic conducted by the Glenn Miller Orchestra musicians in the school's band room. This special opportunity will give students one-on-one coaching, including tips on how to successfully achieve big band sound.
The Glen Miller Orchestra has been delighting the public with its big band and jazz sound since it was founded in the 1930's by big band icon Glenn Miller. It currently consists of 19 members playing an array of instruments including the clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, and drums. The band plays an average of 300 live performances per year in cities throughout the world.
The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $20 for seats in the reserved section, $15 for general admission, and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased at Beaver's Band Box, Instrumental Music Center, and Kid's Center. The concert is sponsored by the Rincon/University band and RUMBA, the band's booster organization.
