Schools Selected To Pilot New School Council Policy

In a step to further advance the implementation the new school council policy approved in December and creation of professional learning communities in all TUSD schools, the district’s School Council Support Team has selected 18 schools to pilot the new policy. Selected schools will participate in a training conducted by the members of the School Council Support Team from
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 in classrooms at Tucson High Magnet School, 400 N. 2nd Ave.
School council members from the following schools will participate in the training:

All TUSD schools were invited in February to submit a letter of interest addressing various criteria including full constitution of school councils and a willingness to participate in trainings and meet with other pilot schools once a semester. Schools participating in the pilot implementation of School Council Policy CFC; all other schools will continue to refer to TUSD Governing Board Policy 1115.
The selection is a culmination of a months-long process begun this school year, which included a special Governing Board presentation and focus group meetings with school community members.
