‘King of Swing’ Legacy Orchestra Perform Fund-Raiser for Rincon

Big band music fans can enjoy a live performance by the world renowned Artie Shaw Orchestra at
7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29 in the Rincon High School auditorium, 421 N. Arcadia
Blvd.
Some of the most popular jazz, swing and big band music of all time were recorded by Artie Shaw and his band in the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. Today, under the direction of Dick Johnson, the band performs classics from that era made popular by the “King of Swing.”
The concert is open to the public. Proceeds will benefit the Rincon/University High marching, jazz, percussion, and concert bands. Tickets range from $10 to $20 and can be purchased at the following locations: Beaver’s Band Box, Instrumental Music Center, and Kids’s Center. The concert is sponsored by the Rincon/University High bands, Joe Cristiani, and RUMBA, the bands’ booster organization.
