Santa Rita To Host BridgeBuilders Peace Celebration

About 900 students and 200 adults will participate in the sixth-annual BridgeBuilders Celebration from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 4 at Santa Rita High School, 3951 S. Pantano Rd. 

Guest speakers will include Superintendent Stan Paz, Governing Board member Mary Belle McCorkle and Tucson City Councilwoman Shirley Scott. 
In addition to Santa Rita, participating schools include Cholla High Magnet School, Carson Middle School, and 13 other TUSD schools. Students will take part in workshops and a peace walk during the event. 

BridgeBuilders is a southeast Tucson coalition that provides students of all ages an avenue to create opportunities to express their feelings and develop ways to create a peaceful environment at home, at school, and in the community. Schools and communities work in a collaborative effort to collectively build a more peaceful community. Efforts include fundraisers; food drives, Liz’s pantry, and other worthwhile volunteer efforts on behalf of students, staff, and parents.
