Parent Workshop on Summer Activities To Be Held at Pueblo

TUSD and Tucson Parks and Recreation summer programs for teenagers, and gang and violence prevention will be topics of discussion at a free parent workshop from
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 26, in the auditorium at Pueblo High Magnet School, 3500 S. 12th
Ave.
Sergeant Steven Vildusea from the State Gang Task Force will teach parents to recognize the signs of gang involvement and drug use. In addition, parents will learn about TUSD summer school programs provided by SEAS as well as programs offered through the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department.
TUSD’s SEAS department, or Summer Enrichment and Academic Success, is the umbrella organization for all summer activities scheduled on any TUSD site. It provides a variety of academic, enrichment and recreational programs in a caring, safe, and diversity-sensitive environment. For more information go to:

The State Gang Task Force, also known as the Gang Intelligence and Team Enforcement Mission or GITEM, was created by the Arizona State Legislature in 1994 to assist criminal justice agencies statewide with criminal gang enforcement and investigative strategies. The State Gang Task Force brought together law enforcement and prosecution agencies from state, county, municipal, federal and tribal jurisdictions in a coordinated, intelligence-driven approach to deal with gangs on a large scale.
