TUSD and Tucson Parks and Recreation summer programs for teenagers, and gang and violence prevention will be topics of discussion at a free parent workshop from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 26, in the auditorium at Pueblo High Magnet School, 3500 S. 12th Ave.

Sergeant Steven Vildusea from the State Gang Task Force will teach parents to recognize the signs of gang involvement and drug use. In addition, parents will learn about TUSD summer school programs provided by SEAS as well as programs offered through the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department.

The State Gang Task Force brought together law enforcement and prosecution agencies from state, county, municipal, federal and tribal jurisdictions in a coordinated, intelligence-driven approach to deal with gangs on a large scale.
