Mayor Walkup To Discuss City Plans With Booth-Fickett Students

Twenty-five sixth-graders from Booth-Fickett Magnet School, 450 S. Montego Dr., will discuss various city projects with Mayor Bob Walkup at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25 at the school

The event is the culmination of a student community building project. The students worked in groups to plan and design a city and will share their assignments with Mayor Walkup. In turn, he will introduce them to current and proposed City of Tucson projects, such as Rio Nuevo, and ask for their feedback. 

In addition, the students have written poetry about Tucson in an assortment of poetic styles which they will present to the Mayor in book form during his visit.
