Specialist Honored by Arizona Technology in Education Alliance

Joyce Geranis, Ed.D., Principal at Ford Elementary School, 8001 E. Stella Rd., recently
was named Arizona Administrator of the Year by the Arizona Technology in Education
Alliance (AzTEA). Geranis was recognized for her support of effective integration of
technology in the classrooms at Ford Elementary School for teaching and learning and for
her encouragement of teachers to use technology as a tool to accomplish job-related tasks.
She received a check for $100 and a trophy.
Norman Purdy, computer support and training specialist in the Educational Technology
Departments Regional Training Center, was named the Technology Support Person of the
Year, chosen for his outstanding efforts in technology support including computer help
desk training services, technical and training support for administration and serving as a
liaison to the Arizona Department of Education on computer training projects. He received
a check for $200 and a trophy.
AzTEA is a non-profit organization dedicated to disseminating educational technology
information to educators in Arizona.
