Carrillo families and community members are invited to enjoy Native American food and activities at La Pilita/Carrillo Elementary School's "Pow-Wow"
from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27 at La Pilita, 420 S. Main Ave.
The exhibits consist of models, research papers, and artwork created by the Carrillo fourth-grade students during their studies this year on Native Americans of Arizona. Family activities include corn grinding, using a pump drill to make jewelry, an Apache dice game, a Navajo string game, and a petroglyph demonstration. Indian taco plates and pop-overs will be on sale for $2.50 to $5.00.
La Pilita Association is a nonprofit organization that supports the study of local history, archaeology, ethnobotany and oral history through collaboration between TUSD and the City of Tucson
