About 300 students will participate in “Lend a Helping Paw,” a pet supply drive for the Foundation for Animals In Risk, also known as FAIR, from
8:24 a.m. to 2:41 p.m. from April 28 through May 5 at Hughes Elementary School, 700 N. Wilson.
Organized by Jackie Krieg’s fourth-grade class, with help from the Aurora Foundation, students will collect dog and cat supplies, including wet and dry food, leashes, pet treats, animal toys, cat and dog carriers/cages and grooming equipment.
Drop offs can also be made in front of the school’s office. Additional collection sites will be located at nearby pet supply stores, which will be determined at a later date.
The Aurora Foundation is a grass root, nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational foundation dedicated to providing innovative leadership development opportunities for women and girls, beginning at the elementary school level. Aurora works with women and girls who traditionally have limited access to opportunities to learn about leadership, acquire leadership skills, and apply these skills in meaningful ways.
